The excursion to the Valley of the Kings is the highlight of your vacation to Egypt. As you crawl through the narrow passageways, you lose the rest of your tour group. You enter a mysterious burial chamber. A massive stone door closes behind you. On the floor lie a dusty notebook and an ancient disk... How to escape?!
Thames & Kosmos' Exit: The Game is a series of games for up to four players that offers a unique, unforgettable gaming experience. These games allow you to bring the excitement, intensity, and team spirit of an escape room to your living room.
In each Exit game, your team starts out locked in an imaginary room, or trapped somewhere. You must solve a series of riddles and puzzles in order to unlock doors and objects and to reveal new riddles. Each correct solution brings you to another riddle and eventually to freedom. The clock is ticking: You must solve all of the puzzles as fast as you can because the faster your team escapes the room, the more points you earn. There are hints to help you if you get stuck, but they will cost you points in the end. Exit: The Pharaoh's Tomb Escape Room Home Game has an Ancient Egypt and archeology theme and unique riddles that are thoughtfully integrated into the storyline. Every lock is associated with a puzzle. You must solve the puzzle to obtain a three-digit code, which is entered into a decoder disk to determine if it is correct. Get ready to test your creative problem-solving and logical-thinking skills. After the rule book gets you started, it’s up to your team to discover how the rooms look, what the clues are, how to decipher them, and how to escape. Can you crack the codes and manage to escape the room? Each game can be played only one time, because you markup, fold, and tear the game materials. It takes about 1-2 hours to play the game.
Rating: 5Fun g by By A customer My grandchildren had lots of fun playing it, ONCE! Then it’s not good for anything but throwing away. Just be aware of that when you buy it.
Rating: 5Don't make it your first Exit: game :-) by By A customer This game was our second try at an Exit: game, and it went much better than the first time through. I think some of the things that we NEEDED to know1. Every bit of stuff that comes in the box is fair play. You may be required to look at it, cut it, rip it, etc. Including the game box, the rules, the throwaway cards, all of it.2. If you are struggling the solve a riddle despite having all of the pieces, you are probably taking the wrong approach. I found myself trying to be too clever. All of the riddles had answers that were much more physical than mental.3. Figuring out which answer card to look at - this deserves a whole section in itself. First, you enter the 3-digit number on the spinner. Then, you flip over the card indicated by the number. THEN, you match where you "see" the symbol for the riddle you are solving on the card you just flipped.Overall, this series has been a great set of date nights for my wife and I.
Rating: 5One time play but takes a few days to complete by By A customer Very fun just extremely difficult. I bought this for my nieces and nephews (ages 11-15). Smart kids. The 11 year olds couldn’t do it on their own. The older girls stepped in and solved it.
Rating: 4Difficult but fun! by By A customer I bought this for Christmas for my 7 year old who has been wanting to try an Escape room. Unfortunately I didn’t realize there are different difficulty levels and got a harder one, but our family of 3 eventually solved it after 3 hours, and with quite a bit of help from the clue cards. We already have ordered another one but at a lower difficulty level so hopefully we may be able to solve a little easier. Well thought out game though! Worth the money even though you can only play once (cheaper than a real escape room!)
Rating: 4Families working together. by By A customer My husband and I plus our 13 yr old and 8 yr old played this. My 13 yr old loved it. She likes solving puzzles. My 8 yr struggled a bit. He read the cards and clues, but it was hard for him to understand. It took us 2.5 hours to complete. We will play another one.
Rating: 5So fun! by By A customer Bought this as a part of our family’s Christmas Eve box of activities. I have six kids and the two older ones and my husband and I really got into it. My 11 year old sat and just watched through the whole game as she didn’t understand a lot of it but was very interested. The 8 years old lost interest quickly (other two are babies) but it is geared for older kids anyway. Great family time with the teenagers. Will buy more from them in the future. It is a one time only game so you need to be okay with that when purchasing.
Rating: 4Tough & a bit frustrating... by By A customer Received this as a Christmas gift. I LOVE escape rooms and myself & my hubby are usually a pretty good team. However, we found this to be pretty darn difficult. We had to use the clues for most of the hints, though as one user noted, we'd typically gotten as far as "Hint #2" and had to resort to "Hint #3" (the answer) to finish it. Towards the end of the game we were finally starting to get the rhythm and flow...there is definitely an order to completing the clues and we had a few "ah ha" moments towards the end. Overall, the game is really well designed. I would just look at the series of Thames & Kosmos Exit games and find the one with the lowest degree of difficulty (located on the front of the box in the bottom left corner) to start the series.
Rating: 5So fun by By A customer I'm hooked. This was so fun I will be getting others. It is single play, but if you feel crafty, you could make some of the pieces you ruin and reuse the game
Rating: 5I love these games by By A customer These are really fun and cleverly done. You can only play them once, but I'm a big fan.
