    My niece and nephew ages 8 and 5 like to play that they are veteranarians. The stethascopes were a big hit. i do feel they will need to be supervised as these are like the real thing. The piece that would be placed on the chest should not be tapped, it could cause ear damage. We all loved listening to each other's hearts!

    I can't rate this product yet, b/c I'm giving it to my granddaughter who will be 5 in Sept. She has always been interested in a 'doctor kit' - I gave her a kit for her 4th b/d, but she really can't hear heartbeat with the stethoscope. However, she LOVES the doctor kit, and we refer to her as Dr. B all the time - when anyone gets a 'boo-boo,' even herself, she becomes Dr. B, and will clean off the boo-boo, put on the first aid cream, the bandaid, etc. We think it's destined that she become a real Dr. B. That's why I decided on this stethscope, which I do hope WORKS. First order from you so I will see!

    I bought it for my daughter to play, but use it as a real stethoscope for checking my kids' breathing when they have cough or flu. Who would think?
